Guadalupe Hernández de Guerrero Papers, 1822-1847.

Correspondence and financial and other documents relating to the settlement and management of husband Vicente Guerrero's estate. A subseries of correspondence contains letters among José Agustin de Escudero, José Maria Bocanegra, and Sebastian Zenón y Fernández about the estate. Another subseries of correspondence, bound and filed as G432 Ms., consists of copies of replies by Mrs. Guerrero to incoming letters. Among these are a few letters addressed to Mrs. Guerrero. Financial documents include receipts and accounts. Among other documents are petitions, agreements, and reports relating to various properties. Additional information pertaining to Guadalupe Hernández de Guerrero is to be found in the papers of her son-in-law, Mariano Riva Palacio, and grandson, Vicente Riva Palacio, which also are housed at this institution.

President of Mexico, military leader. Born 1782 in Tixtla; died 1831 in Cuilapan. Guerrero began his military career in 1810. He was commissioned captain by José María Morelos before the attack on Taxco, was made colonel in 1814 by Juan Nepomuceno Rosains, and received the rank of general from Agustín de Iturbide.
